Our cattle are fed grass/hay/haylage at all times of the year. We do not feed grain to our cattle at any time. Diet amounts are increased as the animals are getting ready for processing to add some fat, and also for mothers that are calving to ensure plenty of milk for the calves. Many of our customers find that a little fat on their beef increases the flavor and tenderness.

All of our beef is dry aged for a minimum 14 days. Using this process, the beef is aged in the open in a cooler, as opposed to in a sealed bag

All cattle that go as beef are between 18 and 24 months, the ideal time for producing the best quality of beef. Mothers that are past the breeding age are sold as lean hamburger to our customers in 1 pound packages.

We treat our cattle with respect and kindness. Our herd has both Spring and Fall examinations by a Veterinarian for pregnancy, health, nutrition and any preventive measures required. Our Vet is on call throughout the year, and we pay particular attention to the health and nutrition of our animals.

Throughout the winter months, between November and June, our herd moves into the barn. Each cow has its own stall, and feeding is regulated for each individual animal.
