Looking to add some "natural nutrients" to your garden? Our Blue Barn Farms Natural Fertilizer are just about the best material you can use to increase organic matter in your yard or garden.

Our manure is produced primarily by cows, and at certain times of the year we incorporate 10% material from chickens. Most of manure is less than two years old due to the high demand for this product.

The Spring is the best time to utilize our natural fertilizer – don’t worry, the smell only lasts for a few days or after the first rain. The results will be well worth it.

One option we recommend is to put our fertilizer along the side of your garden early in the year and plant squash directly in the manure. The squash leaves grow so large that they will pretty well block out the other weeds from growing in the manure, and help in the aging process.

The following Spring you can then re-use the manure from the previous year in your garden. The benefit of increasing the organic content is that it holds increased amounts of water and keeps soil naturally aerated. Adding our garden supplements will also dramatically increase the amount of worms that make your garden their home, contributing to the overall health of the soil.

Manure can also be added to gardens in the fall, to help prepare the soil for the next season, and replace lost nutrients and material from the previous season.

Using natural products can sometimes require a little extra effort, but the results will speak for themselves.
